Corn Islands

Do you like quiet and peaceful beach vacations? If you do, then the Corn Islands are the place for you. Big Corn Island and Little Corn Island are two of the most beautiful places you will find. Big Corn Island lies about 43 miles off the East coast of Nicaragua. The Corn Islands are not your typical extravagant beach vacation with huge resorts and hundreds of tourists. Everything is locally run and owned and this makes each and every experience you have very authentic. The locals that live on these islands are very friendly and most of them speak English. You won’t find much technology on the islands, so this will give you the chance to unplug and relax.

Little Corn Island is just a short boat ride from Big Corn. The cost to get to Little Corn Island is just a small fee of $6. The size of this island is very small, it is only 5 square miles. The population is 850 people. Little Corn Island is one of the very few in the world where there are no cars. The only means of transportation are golf carts, walking, and riding a bike. This is really what makes the island unique. Little Corn Island is the perfect way to escape the problems of the world and just relax. This blog tells you everything you will want to know about Little Corn Island.

Nicaragua is known for giving great experiences for tourists, this starts at the amazing places to stay. On the Corn Islands the choice of hotels is very broad. If you love the beach you can find several places that have direct access. This hotel, Arenas Beach Hotel, has amazing views and it is right on the beach. A couple other hotels that offer great services are Yemaya Reefs and Paraiso Beach Hotel. All three of these hotels are the best that the Corn Islands have to offer. These hotels are immersed in the Caribbean culture and you can’t go wrong choosing to stay at any of these places!

Things to Do

The Corn Islands are surrounded by water, so water activities are the most common here. These Islands are on the Caribbean side of Nicaragua which means the water is very clear and great for snorkeling. Trips to the Corn Islands are supposed to be relaxing, but they are also supposed to be fun. Some things to do on the Corn Islands are Snorkeling, Island Hiking and Walking, and Massage and Yoga.

Restaurants

The food on each of the Islands is very unique. There is a variety of food and you pretty much find whatever you like. The mixture of Caribbean and Nicaraguan style of food can be found only on the Corn Islands. The best part about going on vacation is the food, and the Corn Islands do not disappoint in this area!
